In July 2023, we kept exploring the northernmost limit of the Atlantic Forest. This time, our destiny was the Chapada do Araripe, a plateau forming the border of two northeastern states in Brazil: Ceará and Pernambuco. The region is mostly known for the abundant fossils from the early Cretaceous and the Araripe manakin, an endangered species endemic to Chapada do Araripe.
