The Czech team visits the Atlantic Forest for the first time! In November 2022, we had an amazing day hiking along the trails of Serra do Japi Biological Reserve (Jundiaí, São Paulo, Brazil).

Serra do Japi is a large fragment of Atlantic Forest in São Paulo State, a few kilometers from São Paulo city. About 700 butterflies species can be found there, an oasis surronded by big cities and agricultural lands. LABBOR conducts a butterfly monitoring at Serra do Japi since 2011, recording fluctuations of fruit-feeding nymphalids as part of one of the longest studies on insect temporal diversity in the Tropics.
